Description:

1964 500cc Triumph TRW MOTORCYCLE Reg. No. DUJ 396B Frame No. TRW 29466 Engine No. TRW 29466 NA A matching numbers 'Cold War' period military Triumph which was despatched from Meriden on 23rd November 1964 as part of MOD Batch 3231, London Consignment under invoice 76617. Confirmed by the VMCC and Science Museum records and recorded on the MOD plate attached to the TRW. All but a handful of TRWs were sent overseas, this is one of that handful that remained with the London War Department and was used for escort and ceremonial duties in the capital. Its higher status duties saved it from the normal drab green uniform. Sent out into civvy street in February 1974 with the registration PAK 550M when it passed into private ownership. In 2013 it acquired the age related plate and its MOT with a recorded 12,381miles. The vendor states that DUJ is in good all round condition and is fitted with a side stand, full panniers, Pazon electronic ignition and a new (February 2020) battery. Numerous MOT cert's back up the current mileage of 14,750 which will increase when it's ridden to the sale. Offered for sale with history file and current V5C documentation, a well known machine on the classic bike show circuit. Estimate £5,000 - £6,000
